Media Journal Reflection

Alright...So after completely probably THE most tedious assignment in my college experience thus far, I can actually say that I learned a lot!  I found out that I actually use my laptop way more for things other than school work than I even realized....and I also learned that I may need to cut back on my time I spend watching Netflix.  I also realized that I spent way LESS time using social media and texting! I was definitely surprised by that because I feel like I am on my phone and on Facebook all the time! This assignment really opened my eyes and I feel like it was good- as annoying as it was, it was nice to reflect and be able to see how much I really use the media in my daily life.

Hello!

My name is Lexi Cindric.  I am almost 19 years old (only about a month left until my birthday!) and this is my third year at FCC.  My major at FCC is psychology but my plan is to go to the University of Maryland and get my English degree, hopefully becoming a high school teacher.  I find that I want to be a high school teacher slightly ironic seeing as I graduated high school a year early because I hated it so much- maybe subconsciously I want to make high school better for other teenagers like me who hated it? Who knows. Anyway, like I said, I graduated high school a year early when I was 16 and have been at FCC ever since.  I spend most of my time either working or riding my horses that I compete across the country.  I work as a waitress in a small restaurant in downtown Mount Airy and also teach riding lessons to younger kids just beginning to ride.  This is my last semester at FCC and I cant't wait to move forward with my life and see what else is in store for me!
